Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Nfs-shares from Ubuntu server 9.10 (2.6.31-14-server) over time randomly
disappear from file/folder lists viewed in graphical file browsers
(Nautilus, Thunar) by the client, Ubuntu 9.10 Studio (kernel
2.6.31-9-rt, Gnome 2.28.1). The shares are still available to
applications accessing them e.g. by means of playlists. Additionally,
the shares are correctly displayed in the console ("ls" etc.) and in
Midnight Commander. Usually Thunar displays the shares more completely
than Nautilus. The shares in question are entire partitions or hard
disks on the server. The total nfs-share on the server is approximately
5TB. Disks/partitions with a large file count are generally more
affected by this bug.
