I agree with this: it is very irritating. Would be nice if pavucontrol
would remember this setting. And the lock icon is also not as clear as
could be and could use another icon to more clearly show the current
state.

Yes, i tried to change the volume only from one slider of my 5.1 system
but all the sliders follow even if I disable the option lock channels
together
