Thank you. I've upated the libcouchdb package I am no longer getting
that error, or the 'Other error'.
The only thing I've noticed is that if the address field has two lines
in it, they are displayed in reverse order, whether you copy over a
contact or create it directly into the ubuntu one

This is already fixed in the package we have in our beta PPA
(https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntuone/+archive/beta). So could you
please add that PPA to your /etc/apt/sources.list file and upgrade and
please confirm it fixes it for you?

I rebooted
As for the missing 'address' part, you're missing the new libcouchdb-
glib-1.0-1_0.5.3-0ubuntu1 package update
As for the 'Other error' thing, could you please run the following on a
terminal (after installed the above package update):
$ evolution --force-shutdown
$
