Actually, the above screenshot was taken on a 1 user system (and it
looks ok), so it seems that part of the above bug got fixed in dapper
since I posted, BUT there is still a problem, the list grows as you add
more users, but it does not grow enough, it is always shorter than it
should be.

I am using dapper, and attaching a screenshot. If it is fixed in Edgy,
then I guess I will just have to wait for the next stable release.

Thanks for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? How many users
do you have listed? That works fine on my edgy desktop with a
gdmflexiserver screen, the users list can be scrolled and the login
dialog is correctly placed
