Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm
In Karmic's default sound scheme, the 'ba-da-bump' sound (the first audio played from the speakers) seems to be a signal to Joe User that "Your attn. is required; please login", but the sound is played before any interaction is possible. An alert (or blind) user can hit the enter key immediately, and it will be ignored until the login screen is actually ready, a few seconds later. Expected action: Welcome sound would be played the instant interaction is ready, not before. Current action: The Welcome sound is played several seconds before the login choices are ready. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- sound plays during boot before login selections are ready https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/488134 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
