This problem still exists in Alpha 1 of 10.04 and it's really really frustrating. I use three languages on my system and frequently I cannot type because of scim. As soon as I remove scim the problem is solved, this has been confirmed on three systems now, I am on the verge of leaving Ubuntu becaus
