What happened with this, Matthew? I can't find anything about this in
the current documentation (Ubuntu 7.04, without Beagle, searching for
restart x and Ctrl-Alt-Backspace)

No, this isn't fixed. However, again we will probably be dropping this
section in favour of Gnome material. We'll reevalutate this bug later in
the release cycle.
