1] I'm using Xubuntu 8.04 LTS right now, that's correct.
2] I can confirm AA linked as S37apparmor in rcS.d and NTP as S23ntp in
rc2.d, although I thought smaller numbers indicate a sooner start up.
3] Ich double checked the NTP configuration under /etc/ntp.conf. Do you
want to see it at pastebin
Aquina, this would indeed solve the problem, but in Ubuntu 8.04 LTS it
should be like this already. Apparmor is started at S37 in rcS, which is
before S23ntp in rc2. This sounds like a local configuration issue.
Perhaps in testing the profile was unloaded and ntpd not restarted
after. Can you try r
