Yes, this remains an issues in ubuntu 20, nearly a fresh install. I'll
try to report what happens, but it's running for over an hour so far.
It's progress bar does slowly move however.

I'm having the same problem: apport hanging after I run
ubuntu-bug ubuntu-bug linux-image-2.6.35-30-generic
Though I don't see any problems with X. I also just noted 3 other similar bug
reports as dups of this.

hitting cancel does not stop it. not sure if this is a seperate bug.
