This did not fix the problem. I do not think it is the same bug. After
deleting the said file the client as before apears to be connected but
when i go to the shared files in nautilus, i can not upload a file

I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One isn't working properly for you.
Fortunately, I think there is a workaround for this problem as I believe
it's related to bug 455544 which occurs when the bandwidth preferences
are
