Using Ubuntu 9.10.
Since there is already a good description of the problem, I'll keep it short
and clear:
Same problem with me. I have separate mount points for /, /h

Same problem with me. I have separate mount points for /, /home and /tmp. In
/home I have about 5GB free. When I download a big file (for example the
alternative Ubuntu CD) on the deskto
f hasn't minus the size of /home which mount
other partition.

root partition is 99% full.
