Presumably following an update, my firefox attempts to start from the
Applications menu but doesn't, and if I try launching it from the terminal I
get a segfault. I have tried uninstalling it, purging and uninstalling etc. If
I apologize to everyone on this bug. If Firefox can't start, you won't be able

I'm having the same problem but apport seems not to be working, it came
up with the bug report once and I clicked 'send' and it closed without
doing anything and now FF crashing doesn't launch apport. I've tried
restarting the service but no joy.

That debug file didn't contain anything we can use. If you follow the
instructions in comment #3, you can create an apport crash that we can look at.

What we need is a crash report, not an apport bug report. The command I
posted in the last comment will allow you to start apport for your
current boot only. After you do that, please reproduce the crash and
apport should upload a crash report to Launchpad.

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Could you please generate an apport
crash report for this?
You can enable apport for one instance like this:
sudo service apport start force_start=1
I am marking this invalid as apport will open a new bug when the crash
is generated. If it does not, you can
