Title:

Gnome bug 607420 is now closed. Appatently they think the bug is ubuntu
specific. Can anyone review this again?
Ubuntu bug is marked as incomplete. What information is needed to advance on
this?
I'm using ubuntu 11.04 and this serious bug is still here. (I now this may be
fixed in 11.10, but
Following the procedure in this forum post, seems to solve the issue.
At least for me it does the trick. Del key works as expected (sending
file to trashcan) when a file is selected, but in rename mode it deletes
the text and not the file.
I can reproduce this bug in Ubuntu 11.04, Nautilus 2.32.2.1, Classic
Gnome (with effects), default theme.
Steps to reproduce.
Open nautilus window.
Right click on a file, select Rename...
Click somewhere in the file folder name to edit.
Press DEL key to remove the character next to the cursor

It still occurs in Lucid Lynx 10.04.
I am not using Compact Theme and have not noticed an association with a theme.
I have tested with Metacity and XFCE window managers.
It is consistently reproducible. It never happens that the bug does not
reproduce for me.

I completely forgot about it. It's fixed long time ago.
I'm not absolutely sure, but I think it was the Compact Theme causing this
annoying behaviour of Nautilus. Anyway it disappeared after I change theme. So
it wasn't a Nautilus bug, but a theme bug.
I'm writing this because it may help

The bug is not descriptive enough to know what's the issue and more over
the solution, so please read:
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html ; At minimum we
need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
without a set of steps we cannot reproduce the issue, leaving it here
for a while if someone else can reproduce.

That's a pity! Who can help me? Anybody knows how to fix my Nautilus?
Maybe its not Nautilus, I just noticed - the same thing is happening when I try
rename anything on desktop without opening Nautilus.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Please answer these questions:
1. Is this reproducible?
2. If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? Be as
detailed as possible.
This will help us to find and resolve the problem.

Q1. Is this reproducible? - Probably.
Q2. If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug? - I don't
know. All I know is; the day it started I was playing with some themes and
Compiz settings. Sure, I reset everything to like it was before (to the best of
my knowledge) but, this
