I believe I have a similar issue; I don't want to file an unnecessary
duplicate bug.
In the Gutsy Release Candidate CD, installation goes OK until the
"Scanning the mirror" stage. This appears to hang, but afte

I have seen the same problem and was very disappointed to see that the
installer would hang indefinitely while trying to access the network. I
found a workaround here:
