Been running on the nv driver with no problem, just no acceleration.

I fix the dependency problem. I had to remove all the nvidia packages
and install the modalias packages and the nvida-common. I installed
195.22 and the problem is back. flash-flash then login screen.
Therefore the problem must be in the nvidia accelerated server as the
NV, non-accelerated work
Well it took a whole 5 minutes to crash. I am getting sick of this and
going to get rid of my nvidia card and get an ATI. I 've been using
nvidia for years but it must be time to change.

Update: Without GDM running the xserver will freeze rather than going
back to the login screen.
Also, in attempt to install rev. 195, I did something scrambled the
dependency setup. I can not install ANY of the Nvidia servers. I had
to remove all the nvidia servers and delete the xorg.conf

I don't know if this has anything to do with this problem, but I keep wondering
if it was from gdm? So, went to a virtual console (ctl+alt+f1), logged in and
did a 'sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop', to stop the login screen. Then I started X
via 'startx'. I thought I might atleast see any messages
