I had very similar problem today while converting video files. I used this command 'mencoder -oac mp3lame -ovc xvid -vf scale=320:240 -ofps 20 -xvidencopts bitrate=300 -o out.avi vvideo.avi'. Since there was an error (double 'v' in the input file name) encoding failed. But when I was trying to
