This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

1.0.22.1 alsa driver is Lucid upstream as you can see here
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver.
Since you can fix (as manual installation) your issue, I guessed this
bug can be closed for current stable kernel.
Anyway, if you prefer to keep it open, please feel free to do it
Sorry, what is incomplete about this bug? I pointed to the alsa commit
that fixed this upstream. It has been included in alsa-driver-1.0.22.1.
It just has to be ported to the Ubuntu package.
