Retested today with latest Kubuntu Egdy (as of Oct-25-2006), and it is
still as flakey as ever.
Opened synaptic, clicked on "reload", waited for it to finish, then
clicked on "Mark All Upgrades", and it responded with "fix broken
packages first". There are NO broken packages. Quit synaptic, star

I have had this happen about 4 times since I upgraded to Edgy-beta a few days
ago. I also get periodic "Package cache corrupted" errors.
1. Opened Synaptic: sudo synaptic
2. Reloaded package indexes, got: "Could not download all repository indexes"
with details:
"http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/u
BTW: I see the same problem on edgy.
