When there are no remaining changes, you can request a sync. If there
are remaining changes (like the .desktop file), you can either explain,
why we should drop the change, or you do a merge. Your post indicates
that there is no reason for dropping the change.

What about the change you cited above? The .desktop file IS installed in
the Debian version.
