Public bug reported: Binary package hint: plymouth
plymouth totally breaks systems with root on crypted LVM. After entering the correct password, the system just reports a system panic. steps to reproduce (e.g., in kvm): - install lucid from current daily alternate installer - used guided partitioning with root on crypted LVM - boot system - apt-get install plymouth - reboot Result: - blank screen, no visible password prompt (this is [probably] bug #496765) - after entering correct password, the kernel panics (probably because it cannot find the root filesystem) Expected Result: - normal system startup. Used versions: Today's daily, alternate installer. ** Affects: plymouth (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- install plymouth breaks "root on crypted LVM" systems https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/499488 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
