Public bug reported: Binary package hint: thunderbird
In Ubuntustudio 9.10 using thunderbird 2.0.0.23+build1+nobinonly- 0ubuntu1, attempting to launch thunderbird fails like this: $ thunderbird (thunderbird-bin:11442): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times Segmentation fault $ Using the -safe-mode to disable plugins makes no difference. I tried the debugging procedure from the wiki, and when I start gdb it says, ""/usr/bin/thunderbird": not in executable format: File format not recognised" Thinking that perhaps the executable had been corrupted, I did an "apt- get remove --purge thunderbird" then "apt-get install thunderbird" and tried again... $ thunderbird -safe-mode (thunderbird-bin:12124): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times Segmentation fault $ This time, I can see the thunderbird window open momentarily before it fails, unlike before, but gdb still won't recognise the file format.
