Public bug reported: pkg-config is an essential tool for software to detect libraries and acquire the build flags to use them properly. This package should contain (ie) /usr/lib/pkgconfig/glew.pc but does not. See Mesa's gl.pc for an example of a similar package.
Lack of this file (and thus ability to detect a system-wide library) leads upstream packagers to include a local static copy of GLEW making more work for Ubuntu packagers to modify upstream build scripts to manually link to this library. Please, for the cost of a few hundred bytes in a -dev package it will save a lot of headache.
