This happen to me quite frequently on my Intel graphics system. (Device manager referes to it as 82915G/GV/910GL Integrated Graphics Controller.) It's happened to me it seems every night for the past 3 days. I get this weird colorful line pattern on my screen. Here I've attached my Xorg log file

The error messages dont' match up exactly to bug #176377, so I suspect it's a separate issue. Active ring not flushed is a pretty generic error message and doesn't indicate what the underlying problem is. Generally, rather than the error message, the key things to look at for comparing bugs is

I've recently been experiencing this problem a lot. I am using the latest release of Ubuntu (Gutsy 7.10). I haven't had the same rainbow effect that other users have been reporting, but my xserver definitely crashes, and my monitor displays the same few hundred pixels from the last good screen

Seems to happen for me only on Dell Opti Machines (mine are Dell Optiplex GX110). Can reproduce it 90% of the time by browsing a specific email in my Gmail on Firefox, this same e-mail does not seem to crash the system when using the Ephiphany browser. This chap has it on the Dell machine as

This happens to me on any version of ubuntu from dapper on. And it seems to only happen on Javascript heavy pages. The only solution I have found is that when I use Enlightenment 17 instead of Gnome it never happens. -- XServer Crashes with Active ring not flushed error.
