Webcams plugged or unplugged after cheese startup not recognised

I guess this is the same... if I have the built-in webcam on my laptop
switched off when starting cheese, it will only report an error and have
no way to find it after I've turned it on. If it is possible to detect
that a camera has appeared, then it would be nice to not have to
restart. :)
You can verify whether an USB device is pulgged or not by running e.g.
the lsusb ( http://linuxcommand.org/man_pages/lsusb8.html ) from an
xterm or the usbview ( http://www.kroah.com/linux-usb/ ) program.
