thank you for your bug report, that's not a bug though, some laptop have
brightness change being done directly by the hardware so those don't get
the software events which display bubbles, closing this bug since that's
not a notify-osd issue and a known issue
** Changed in: notify-osd (Ubuntu)
Also seeing this on a Dell Studio XPS 1645. I don't know exactly which
update triggered it, but it was within the last couple of weeks.
** Changed in: notify-osd (Ubuntu)
Status: New = Confirmed

notify-osd does not show screen brightness anymore
The OSD notifications went all back to normal today on my netbook! I
can't remember for sure if I downloaded any new updates in the mean
time. Hope the same happened to everyone else who had the same problem.

notify-osd does not show screen brightness anymore
I have a macbook 1.1 and use Karmic and confirm this odd behavior. The
little black and white icon display shows up with volume but does not
function when I use my brightness keys, as it use to in Jaunty.

notify-osd does not show screen brightness anymore
I confirm this behaviour also. The same thing happened on my Compaq Mini
110c netbook: Brightness function keys still work but OSD indication is
no longer visible. My only guess is that some of the recent updates
broke this, but can't tell which one for sure.
