The user has not responded to this bug report in many months. I am
closing this bug, and assuming that a more recent X driver has solved
this problem.
If this is not the case, please open a new bug referring to this one.

We probably can't recommend a good graphics card, although switching to
a different type could verify that it is graphics related.
Can you reproduce this problem under Ubuntu Edgy (6.10)?
