Binary package hint: kdegames
This situation appeared twice in different games.
Both games with five computer players and one human in quest environment.
The freeze occurred when one Bot player tried to attack other Bot player
allways between Iran and Cazaquistan.
Selection of those regions flashes in loop and it doesn't show the dices in the
side, game freezes here but menu continues actif.
Save button in the menu also flashes.

GNOME desktop version 2.28.1, ubuntu distribuition
Note: English is not my first language, if need better explanation I'll
use portuguese.
