Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kdebase
I have 3 computers. a intel desktop and notebook and AMD desktop running Kubuntu 91.0 x 64 with KDE 4.3.4. All takes 3 min or more to start up due to some new check in the boot process which requires a network connection to be established. If the network connection is not established the system just sists there and waits until a programmed timeout which is more than 3 min. This is a real pain. We use pppoe connections with a username and password and if the system cannot estblish the connection if freezes and does not get to the plasma desktop after the login screen. The plasma desktop also just freeze randomly and also during the power saving routine when the computers is left for a few minutes. The only way to get around this is to reboot from alt F2 through sudo shutdown now -r. This is a priority problem which must be fixed as it affects many kde users. ** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Kubutu 9.10 with KDE 4.3.4 takes more than 3 min to boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/513237 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
