I'm experiencing the same behaviour in lucid as described in this bug
report. This is however different from what is described in kde-bug
#224517, since a comment states, that the screen does get locked after
waiting for I/O heavy resume tasks to finish.

I can easily and predictably repeat the bug with kernel 2.6.32-16.25-generic.
To my knowledge, 2.6.32-16.25-generic is the latest kernel in the Lucid branch.
That was the kernel I was running when I ran apport-collect earlier today, so I
don't think a new run is necessary. Sorry if I'm

Not very surprisingly, I get the same behavior with hibernation. Isn't
this kind of bad for privacy and security?

I'm seeing a difference in behavior, depending on how I initiate the
sleep: if done via the K menu - Leave - Sleep, the screen saver is
activated; if done via Ctrl+Alt+Del menu, no screen saver.

screen not locked on suspend or hibernate (screen saver not activated)
Also, suspend is much quicker if initiated via the K menu. Then I get a
notification about the screen saver being activated. If I suspend via
the Ctrl+Alt+Del menu, it takes a few seconds longer, and I see a
notification about networking system disabled.

Thinking this behavior was a generic KDE bug, I filed an upstream bug:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224517. That was before I tested on
openSUSE.
