Yes 'sudo apt-get install usb-modeswitch libusb-dev' and a reboot is all you need to get the E122 (and possibly some other modems) to work. So it works very well yes... but there's some functionality that I would love to see. 1. A signal strength indicator 2. A connection type indicator (GPRS, 3G

I've upgraded to 10.04 and the modem now works perfectly (it also "feels" a lot faster than the old E220). However, I did have to sudo apt-get install usb-modeswitch libusb-dev and reboot before it would work. I'd close this bug as 'fixed' if I could work out how to :-) -- Network Manager fails
