We changed the default Phonon backend a while ago, which should have
fixed this issue.

I confirm that this bug is on KDE 4.5 RC1 from kubuntu-ppa/beta as well.
I tried installing pulseaudio, but to no avail. I have a SB X-fi using
default drivers from Lucid kernel.
