I confirm that this bug is on KDE 4.5 RC1 from kubuntu-ppa/beta as well. I tried installing pulseaudio, but to no avail. I have a SB X-fi using default drivers from Lucid kernel. $ apt-cache policy phonon-backend-xine phonon-backend-xine: Installato: 4:4.7.0really4.4.2-0ubuntu1~lucid1~ppa1
