I attempted to install Desktop Edition. So you say it's a fact that 2G
stick is needed for it?
Then it should be mentioned in the documentation and in the program
itself, because when I tried it just said it needs like "1 GB minimum".

Could you please let us know if you were attempting to install the Desktop or
the Netbook edition of Ubuntu onto to the USB drive? The Netbook edition should
work on a 1GB drive, while the Desktop edition requires a 2GB drive
