*** This bug is a security vulnerability *** Public security bug reported:
this is tricky to duplicate, but on occasion when adding a wireless connection and placing a checkmark in "Available to all users" and hitting Apply, the authentication dialog box for privilege escalation pops up for the user's password, but sometimes does not focus the cursor in the dialog. What happens: sometimes I type my password it goes nowhere specific (which is a bit of a security concern since I am not aware of where it goes. If I had a chat session open might it choose to focus the cursor in that app?) What I expect to happen: I expect my password to go in the box that just popped up. There seems no reason to prompt for password authentication and not force an immediate response via a modal switch. ** Affects: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Visibility changed to: Public -- Authentication dialog box for Privilege escalation does not always focus. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/518111 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
