No matter which version of nvidia driver I try to install it crashes.
If I open it up again it shows the version I tried to install as
installed and waiting for a reboot. On reboot it shows the driver
installed, but no 3d is available (desktop effects, etc).
I also can't see the duplicate bug...
Am I the only one who can't see the bug Apport retracing mentioned? (bug
518879) It would be nice to get to see the bug that's the duplicate of
this one (and therefore a duplicate of the one I filed).

Ubuntu better. This particular crash has already been reported and is a
duplicate of bug #518879, so is being marked as such. Please look at
the other bug report to see if there is any missing information that you
can provide,
I also had this happen to me and I reported it in bug 520837 so that
apport would upload the information from the crash, but I marked 520837
as a duplicate of this bug.
