OK, the first main difference I can find is that your system seems to be accessing different files in the .w3m folder inside your home folder, whereas mine doesn't find any. Can you please confirm whether or not there are files inside that folder, such as a config file? -- w3m doesn't have browse

Thank you for adding all of this information using Apport. I have checked my system, and I can still load websites just fine with w3m and I have all of the same versions of the packages installed for w3m. Can you please list the steps you take to reproduce this bug (as specifically as possible)? -

My previous does include that information. But I will explicitely tell you: ~% dpkg -l |grep w3m ii w3m 0.5.2-2ubuntu1 WWW browsable pager with excellent tables/fr ~% cat /etc/issue Ubuntu 9.10 \n \l And I can reproduce this on all my three karmic installs. They are 64 and 32 bit architectures.
