I followed our steps to reproduce using Ubuntu 11.04 and I can't seem to
reproduce the error you are getting. Kindly try again and let us know if
this affectes you with the latest version of this program.

Ok, the GVFS fuse mount doesn't cause this error (but it will cause an
error when you try to access it as root, which is your second problem).
This isn't a Nautilus issue though if there are permissions issues in
your home folder
