Running ubuntu 10.4 beta1 under vmware workstation. Everything runs smoth
until after updating. Tried several times but had to discard the virtual
ubuntumachines. Laptop sony vaio vpcf11s1e

using vmware on Mac, installed ubuntu 10.4 everything was OK
updated ubuntu (ca 113 updates)
restarted
machine didnt boot up. mess with /mnt/hgfs or similar, introduced in fstab
through vmware tools
commented this entry out, restarted ubuntu
boot ok, login ok but gnome panel doesnt show up.
