As far as I know, this behaviour is more or less intentional and the
_bug_ is that it can't be turned off, even in the newest versions of X
and synaptics. A hackish workaround is here:

ya, Tomas I think the behavior is very intentional as a patch is
available which can easily change the behavior and not merged till now.
Still I'm curious to know, what is the behavior in windows and other OS.
