Public bug reported: I'm using Aspire 5315-2713 with Ubuntu 9.10 I have: intel celeron dual-core processor T1400 1.73 Ghz, 533 Mhz FSB, 512 KB L2 Cache 2 GB DDR2 I installed Ubuntu 9.10 on an external usb 20 GB hard drive Western Digital so I could use and test Ubuntu 9.10
I did a clean full install of Ubuntu 9.10 (no problems) I did all the updates in Update Manager (no problem) After everything was complete, the mouse wasn't working properly. It had a delayed response when I used the touch pad or the external mouse. When I rebooted, everything seemed fine at first. Then about 15 or 20 minutes later computer overheated then shut down. Aspire 5315-2713 cpu overheats (because fans wont function normally or at all using Ubuntu 9.10) then computer shuts off. Aspire 5315-2713 works fine with Windows Vista (fans work normally) no problem Aspire 5315-2713 works fine with Ubuntu 8.10 (fans work normally) no problem It's now February 22, 2010 Have you guys made an update to fix this problem yet? I'm still waiting for the update. ONLY USE LAYMENS TERMS!! I know how to enter information in the terminal. I just don't know what information to enter in Terminal to stop the computer from overheating. (Also, there's the issue of will I have time enough to enter in information before the computer overheats then shuts off.) ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Aspire 5315-2713 overheats shuts down using Ubuntu 9.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525756 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
