Beta and RC of Lucid both installed fine on the Dell 1764, just to
provide you an update. Whatever the problem, it has been resolved. It
was very new hardware at the time this bug was initially filed by other
user.

I think it is that Ubuntu does not have a hardware driver for the Intel
Integrated HD Graphics Card in the Dell 1764. Even though I was able to
make things work on Karmic, the graphics still stall sometimes until I
move the mouse. I had to use "Safe Graphics Mode" to even get it to
install with K
We'd like to figure out what's causing this bug for you, but we haven't
heard back from you in a while. Could you please provide the requested

I was able to install Karmic using safe graphics mode from Live CD then
re-installed X-server to get correct resolution, but Compiz does not
work. Locks up on cursor movement or menu drop down.
