i again
a. first of all you were 100% write - stopping Kwin compositing did stop
the porblem, though i didn't find a specific desktop effect causing it
directly... i tried removing them one by one.
b. thank you for your assistance, i'll be sure to install the new kernel
& mesa-dri version (may
kkd.log is showing that there is internal problem in mesa dri driver
that it emits more data to command stream that it should. Then kernel is
rejecting the command stream which causes X to crash. There is some bug
in mesa radeon driver.
I thunk that crash won't happen if you disable kwin composite
as you can see ... the kdm.log is free from errors ... any other ideas?

i tried to run "tailf" a few times with few confiurations but each time
i crash my machine intentionly the all the terminals go back to prompt
and i see no evidance of the crash ... i'll give it sevral more tries
tomorrow ... i'm going to sleep now. hopefully i'll send all the

Can you collect Xorg.log + dmesg after crash? Also lspci --vvn
