The original issue ( nfs+portmap ) seems to be fixed in feisty/gutsy.
The other reported by Ryan Lovett I do not know.

Well, we have to know if this is fixed in Feisty, maybe you could try
with a live-cd ? If it is fixed we could a ask for a backport of portmap
that would fix the bug in Dapper LTS, if not we will report it upstream
so it can get fixed.
