Public bug reported: The recovery boot mode is broken. When I select "recovery mode" on the Grub boot selection screen, a recover mode menu is displayed with a number of choices. However, almost instantly a command line shell is *also* started on the same console, it's output mixing with that of the menu. Keyboard input after that seems to go randomly to either the menu or the shell and both are therefore impossible to control, rendering the recover mode useless.
I have attached a photo of the screen showing the problem. I will also attach the contents of grub.conf. Please let me know what other information I can provide to help debug this problem! This is on Ubuntu Karmic Koala 64-bits, with all the latest updates installed. lsb_release -rd: Description: Ubuntu 9.10 Release: 9.10 uname -a: Linux peregrin 2.6.31-19-generic #56-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jan 28 02:39:34 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Recovery boot mode broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/531953 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
