That configuration dialog is deprecated in GNOME3 and Oneiric so closing
the bug, feel free to open new bugs about other issues you might find
though

I removed the indicator applet and typing break is supposed to fall back to
notification area.
However, under all icon themes of mine, the icon is shown as "icon
unavailable", as attached.
This seriously affects the functionality of typing break, since no
warning is given. Although the modificat
Fallback icon now appears for me for the 'typing break' indicator
(instead of the 'no icon found' symbol (as in attachment #7)) by
deleting indicator applet and session and then re-adding them .

I can reproduce the situation the bug reporter describes (indicator
applet removed from panel in Karmic, gnome typing monitor enabled, and
then upgrade to Lucid, no icon shown.
The failback is working in so much that a status icon is shown because
there is no indicator applet, but an incorrect ico
I think the fallback option displays an unknown/invalid icon. (or in
case of sound, no icon at all.
