@Darren, the problem is that both the UI and non-UI packages are important: they were split so that Kubuntu users wouldn't have to bring in unnecessary gnome dependencies then installing the vpn plugins (they were all split). I agree, this should be done during the upgrade process, I'm looking at

I see the same thing, you also get it when trying to connect (I had existing connection entries before upgrading). It appears as if the ui components have been separated, if you install network-manager-vpnc- gnome it should fix your problem (it did mine). It should really be handled during the
