This is not a packaging issue -- it is an fundamental issue in the
upstream package. If there would be a small patch available for OOo this
could and would be backported -- however given the issue this is
unlikely.

last comment regarding this being fixed by updating to it. For future
reference you can manage the status of your own bugs by clicking on the
current status in the yellow line and then choosing a new status in the
revealed drop
Yes I cannot reproduce in libre office.

The same happens on Kubuntu Lucid, where I run kwin, not compiz. So I
don't think this is related to compiz.
