Public bug reported:

I'm running a current edgy box and I'm having problems w/ network-
manager and the atheros chip in my T42p.  Basically, if I have network-
manager enabled it causes madwifi to get into a very weird state where
it refuses to associate.  If on the other hand I disable it (close the
applet).  I can sometimes eventually (takes a while) to force it to
associate.  Once I removed it and rebooted, I was able to associate
right away.  This is without any crypto.
