Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Translations in Ubuntu are handled by the Ubuntu
Translations project, so we are going to move this bug report over to
that project.

just wanted to note that this is still a problem. I'm not going to have
time to look at the code, because mostly, I'm not a dev, but if things
settle down I'll try to take a look. It seems like it'd be a pretty
simple thing to fix, but I don't really know.
