This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it
recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the
latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

Renaming the suggested file didn't help. I tried it with the today's
snapshot of the lucid's desktop CD. The logs above are from my current
Kubuntu Karmic system.

and unplug/replug the device, and check if it still happens? (This
requires that you are running current lucid).
