Is this still an issue on a thinkpad t40. There have been a number of
updates to all the affected kernels, it is possible that this bug has
been fixed.

(The T410 is my "production" machine.)

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 on a Thinkpad T410s (2912-39G) and have the
same problem. Sometime i even have to hard reset the notebook, because
after a faileds resume the system wont boot.

Hi Jeremy,
I can confirm that this (or perhaps a more restricted) problem occurs
with 2.6.32-0206321203-generic from the mainline PPA. I could not test
with the kernel linked from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/daily/current/, as that kernel hangs at boot time.

I've confirmed that this bug occurs in upstream, using the source from
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/linux-2.6.32.10.tar.bz2, and
building with
config-2.6.32-17-generic-pae from linux-image-2.6.32-17-generic-pae (using
"make oldconfig").
